NITORI Co., Ltd. provides mobile accommodations ("Moving Houses") as lodging for athletes taking part in the Asian Games. At "CROSSROADS FESTIVAL," coming to SAKAE HIROBAs, a building of the same type as the athletes' actual accommodations will be on special display. At the real facilities, NITORI supplies everything as a total package—from installing the Moving Houses to interiors, furniture and appliances, bedding and linens, and fixtures for kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets—supporting a comfortable daily life for the athletes. [Highlights and Booth Features]
■What Is a Mobile Accommodation ("Moving House")?
Moving Houses are built entirely of wood, frame included, based on the dimensions of shipping containers. Each building is 100% finished at the factory, and the units are connected horizontally or vertically on site, making it possible to build all kinds of facilities quickly. Because they are designed to be taken apart and relocated, they can be moved again and again, even after completion.
■How the Facilities Will Be Used
Taking advantage of their mobility, the buildings will not be discarded after the Games; instead, they will live on as dormitories or temporary housing—a new way of thinking about what a facility can be. Complete with interiors, furniture and appliances, bedding and linens, and kitchen, bathroom, and toilet fixtures, they are offered to companies and local governments as spaces that are ready to use right away.
■Introducing Our Emergency Temporary Housing Initiative
A panel display introduces our work on "mobile" emergency temporary housing that can be installed quickly in disaster-affected areas.
